OurFamLife is built around private family spaces, secure sign-in, and careful handling of location data.
Account protection
Passwords are stored using one-way password hashing. API access uses server-issued tokens, HTTPS requests, and server-side permission checks before returning family data.
Family access controls
Location, calendar, shopping list, places and profile data are scoped to the family account. Family admins control who can add members, manage billing and use location-sharing controls.
Location safeguards
Live locations are shown only to approved family members or approved map-only family connections. Temporary pings expire automatically after the selected time.
Payments
Paid plans are processed by Stripe Checkout. OurFamLife does not store card numbers or full payment details on its own servers.
Operational security
The production site runs over HTTPS and uses server-side validation for accounts, families, billing, places, calendar imports and location updates. We monitor errors and continue tightening rate limits, backups and abuse protections as the public release grows.
